Lääne-Viru County is a community-focused region that values health and well-being as the foundation for a good life. This is supported by 36 family health centers and the emergency care provided by Rakvere Hospital, which is constantly evolving. Modernized Nursing Care Establishment, Emergency Room, isolation rooms, and a rehabilitation department are the latest examples of innovations. The hospital is aiming to provide quality medical services right here on-site. It has partnered with the Tallinn Health Care College to offer nursing education starting in the fall of 2024. Also, the Hospital provides medical services to NATO soldiers residing in Tapa.
Lääne-Viru County has been a pioneer in entire Estonia and established unique social welfare prevention specialist positions with a central focus on residents and their well-being throughout their life cycle. Mental health and the ways of balancing and promoting it are cross-regional strategic goals. The residents of Lääne-Viru County already rate their health more positively than the national average.
